Barrington
"Fat Cat" Hawkins is a 25 year music veteran,
the leader of the Island Boys, an accomplished songwriter,
lead vocalist, composer and producer. His musical
career began in the mid 1960's playing in his local
high school band, later forming his own professional
group and becoming the charismatic band leader of
The Island Boys.
The
band has won an array of songwriting competitions
and in 1994 was awarded best contemporary album and
song of the year. Barrington has performed with many
internationally renowned musicians such as Harold
Melvin and the Bluenotes, Miami Sound Machine, Smokey
Robinson, Sister Sledge, KC and Joe Joe, Boys to Men
and The Ohio Players.
In
his role as the Island's leading talent manager Barrington
brings together the leading Bahamian native performers.
His agency includes a true taste of the Caribbean
with solo acts, two, three and four piece bands, steel
bands, Junkanooers, Junkanoo shows, fire and limbo
dancers.
