About our Bahamas Fishing Charters
Founded in 1992 by Peter Maury, PARADISE ISLAND CHARTERS is backed with years of practical fishing experience. Peter first operated Hurricane Hole Marina for 10 years and assured its success as it climbed to one of the most highly regarded marinas in the Caribbean. Peter is a true Bahamian, his family, English loyalists came to the islands of the Bahamas in the 1700's and settled in the Abacos. After attending college in America he came home to put what he had learned to practical use. Peter never forgot his upbringing and knowledge of fishing and the Bahama islands. Captain Peter became an accomplished fishing angler, winning local tournaments. With many of the world class Sportfish boats and angler's that frequent the Bahamas Peter gained experience from the best.

Ian Robertson and Peter wanted to start their own fishing charter business and decided to do what they both loved and knew best. Ian at 11 years of age became the youngest ever Master Angler in the Bahamas Angling Club, winning angler of the year.
Ian holds many records in light tackle categories. Victorious in many of the local tournaments Ian continued to hone his skills and decided to follow adream and start fishing full time.
Captain Robertson had been certified by Mercury and OMC as an outboard marine technician and after 15 years experience was excited to start up a new fishing charter business. |

We can get you onto the fishing grounds in less than ten minutes from the sea buoy, and troll for Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna and Mahi. The actual time spent fishing is a key factor in charter satisfaction. Our boats are specifically chosen for their speed and performance. Equipped with twin diesels they can run close to 30 Knots and cruise comfortably at 24 knots. They are also chosen for their open and spacious design. | Our 48' custom Smith Express is a true fishing machine, loaded with the latest in electronics. The speed of this boat is a key ingredient to our successful catch ratio. Faster means less travel time and more fishing time. No other boat in the local fleet can compare. We fish circles around our competitors and there is nothing they can do about it. Our long range trips take just over an hour and the distance pays off. We go where the other boats can't so the fishing is even better. Anybody can guarantee No Splash No Cash but do you really want to waste time sitting on a reef trying to catch small fish all day or do you want to go out and catch the large game fish. |

We also have a 38' custom Warren O'neill, designed to take a Heavysea and return you safely. These types of boats have been fishing the Carolina outer banks for better than 50 years and are built to handle the infamous Oregon Inlet. Time tested for both seaworthiness and fishability this boat is an absolute classic, but do not let the design fool you. This boat will cruise along comfortably at 24 knots. with air-conditioned galley and head below. The construction is Fiberglass over Juniper plank, with twin Volvo diesels for power. This boat speaks the fish language and they get in line when its fishing time. |

What to Bring on your Fishing Trip
Half day fishing charter
All you need is a beach towel (the hotel will supply you with one), if you are on a morning charter make sure you get the towels the day before as we leave the dock at 7:30 AM or earlier. Bring some sunscreen and we do the rest snacks, drinks etc.
Full day fishing charter
Towel and sunscreen just the same, we supply everything else including a sandwich lunch. |
